How we work
Our decisions are shaped by longevity, transparency, and creative independence.
Build real infrastructure without asking creators to surrender the identity, ownership, or direction that made their work matter.
Make decisions around careers, catalogs, relationships, and brands that can still make sense years from now.
Keep expectations, opportunities, and responsibilities clear so artists understand the systems supporting their work.
Create more ways for independent artists and creative professionals to participate, collaborate, and build together.
What we do
Worldwide release infrastructure, catalog support, and direct-to-fan music experiences.
Rights administration and publishing infrastructure designed around long-term catalog value.
Audio, visual, editorial, design, and media services for artists and creative projects.
Practical tools, access, education, and services built around independent artist needs.
Digital infrastructure connecting independent releases with audiences around the world.
Direct-to-fan storefronts, artist tools, internal systems, and new ways to access East Rock services.
Our evolution
Sean O’Hara starts producing music seriously after meeting rappers during Army AIT who began recording over his instrumentals.
Sean launches his first independent label, Mad Prince Records, under his DJ and producer identity.
East Rock Entertainment begins as a video and creative production idea built to support Mad Prince Records and its artists.
East Rock is formally founded as an independent record label by Sean O’Hara and co-founder Anthony Ahlberg.
East Rock continues growing through the COVID-19 pandemic, helped by its existing online infrastructure and remote-first workflow.
Anthony launches Dysfunctional Records while East Rock begins expanding beyond traditional label services.
Sean and web developer Khaled Nached begin work on Project Nova, an early version of what would eventually become Record Label In-A-Box.
East Rock puts greater focus on its Connecticut studio while continuing to grow its online label and artist services.
With Josh James and Monique Rocha joining creative leadership, East Rock expands its focus on artist development, media, and its growing Providence community.
East Rock undergoes its largest transformation since its founding, evolving from a relationship-driven independent label into a broader entertainment and creator-services company. The launch of Record Label In-A-Box (RLIAB) brings years of manually operated label services into a centralized online platform, while East Rock expands across music, media, publishing, direct-to-consumer commerce, and creator-focused services.
