When will my release go live?
Release timing depends on when your submission is completed, approved, and delivered to platforms. Submit releases as early as possible, especially when requesting a specific release date. Store processing times vary, and last-minute submissions may be delayed.
Can I change my release after submitting it?
Contact support as soon as possible if you notice an error. Some information can be corrected before delivery, but changes may be limited once a release has been sent to stores. Major changes may require the release to be withdrawn and resubmitted.
Can I use AI-generated artwork or music?
AI-assisted artwork may be accepted when it has been significantly customized and does not copy protected characters, brands, artists, or existing artwork. Fully AI-generated music is not eligible for distribution through Record Label in a Box.
Can I release music containing samples?
You must have permission for every sample included in your music. This includes music, movie dialogue, television audio, social media clips, and other copyrighted recordings. Proof of licensing may be requested before your release can be delivered.
Can I use a YouTube or “free” beat?
Only when the producer’s terms clearly permit commercial distribution. A beat labeled “free” may only be free for noncommercial use. Purchase the proper license before submitting your release.
Can you guarantee playlists, streams, or sales?
No legitimate distribution or marketing service can guarantee editorial playlist placement, a specific number of streams, or sales performance. Marketing services improve visibility and positioning but do not guarantee results.
What artwork can I submit?
Artwork should be a high-quality square image without blurry graphics, website addresses, social media handles, pricing, store logos, or misleading information. The text on the artwork should match the release information provided in your submission.
Why was my release rejected?
Stores may reject releases because of artwork, metadata, audio quality, samples, licensing, artist-name conflicts, or other policy issues. Review the rejection notice carefully and provide every requested correction or supporting document before resubmitting.
